Actor. A longstanding member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, McCormack appeared in over 50 productions with the company between 1967 and 2002, moving from smaller, unnamed parts to larger supporting roles including Macduff in Macbeth (1988), Kent in King Lear (1989), as well as a range of roles in contemporary plays by writers such as Howard Barker and Edward Bond. He also appeared in a number of regional and London theatre productions, including work at the Glasgow Citizens Theatre the Royal Court's the 1986 premiere of Jim Cartwright's seminal play, Road and Light Shining In Buckinghamshire with Joint Stock. He later worked as a tutor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
