Director. Hammerstein’s career started in stage management on Broadway, and he began producing and directing in the mid 1960s. He directed a number of Rodgers and Hammerstein (his father) musicals. He directed the world stage premieres of Harold Pinter’s Tea Party and The Basement in New York in 1968.
