Director and actor. Burne-Jones's career was most closely associated with the Citizens’ Theatre during the joint directorship of Giles Havergal, Philip Prowse and Robert David MacDonald and, for more than 35 years, with Scottish Opera. For 3 years he ran his own music-theatre company. During the 1990s, he worked on Scottish Television’s Machair, the first major Gaelic drama series. He also taught at both Glasgow University and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (Herald Scotland website).
