Actor. Newark worked extensively in television, film and theatre. After performing in television and film, he became more involved more involved in the theatre in the 1970s, spending nearly a decade at the National Theatre. At the NT Newark was part of the company that opened the current home and was a cornerstone of the residential company that worked in the smaller Cottesloe Theatre, under Bill Bryden's direction. He created the role of Roote in the premiere of 'The Hothouse', in 1980 (Wikipedia).
