| Description | The In Rehearsal series was a produced by the BBC Further Education department for transmission on BBC 1 at 11.30am on Sunday mornings in 1969. The series was repeated in 1970. The format involved rehearsing a group of amateur actors with selected scenes from a different play each week. Other plays in the series were Euripides' The Bacchae (Episode 2), Shakespeare's Twelfth Night (Episode 3), Congreve's The Way of the World (Episode 4), Labiche and Michel's An Italian Straw Hat (Episode 5), Ibsen's Ghosts (Episode 6), Chekov's The Cherry Orchard (Episode 7), Miller's Death of a Salesman (Episode 8) and Coward's Present Laughter (Episode 9). Episode 1 focussed on improvisation. |
