The Leeds Playhouse was originally located on the south grounds of the University of Leeds Campus, adjoined to the University sports hall, and this database entry represents that iteration of the theatre. In 1990 it moved to a purpose-built theatre with two venues on Quarry Hill, Leeds and was renamed the West Yorkshire Playhouse. It reverted to its original name in the Quarry Hill location in 2018 after a refurbishment and additional build.
