Born: 13 May 1931

Designer. Working initially for television and then theatre, Diss joined the BBC Design team in 1952 and worked there intermittently for the next 50 years. Notable credits during that time include Maigret (1960-1963), Porterhouse Blue (1987) and Jeeves and Wooster (1990-1993) and on film such as 84 Charing Cross Road (1987) and A Handful of Dust (1988). Throughout her career, Diss worked on a number of seminal Pinter stage productions as well as productions of the work of Simon Gray and Brian Friel.
