Description | Programme description: "The first performance on his 70th birthday of a radio play (which dates from about 1960) by SAMUEL BECKETT with Billie Whitelaw as the Stenographer Harold Pinter as the Animator Patrick Magee as Fox and Michael Deacon as Dick The French version of this rough sketch for a radio play was published in Paris last year, with the title Pochade Radiophonique. Samuel Beckett has translated the play from his own French. Showing the animator ' and his stenographer, trying to extract a story from a strange bound and gagged figure, it gives a picture, both comic and tragic, of a writer's creative process." |
