Description A collaboration between James Clarke and Harold Pinter, Voices is a radio drama for voices and music. The words are selections from the more political works of Pinter's dramas. First broadcast to mark the occasion of Harold Pinter's 75th birthday in October 2005. The work was broadcast again on Saturday 30 December 2006 on BBC Radio 3 in a Double Bill with a recording of Family Voices made during the Sheffield Crucible Theatre Pinter Celebrations that year. Voices had been played in the darkened studio for the audiences at the Sheffield Pinter Season on 1 November 2006. It was played in similar circumstances for the delegates of the Harold Pinter: Artist and Citizen conference in Leeds early that year, at 9am on 14 April 2007, followed by a Q&A with James Clarke. Voices was then broadcast again on Sunday 15 February 2009 on BBC Radio 3 in a double bill with the 2000 BBC Radio 3 production of Moonlight. The original broadcast was followed by interviews with James Clarke and Michael Billington. See the Work entry to see which extracts of which Pinter plays were used as composite parts of this drama.
