Description | A reading of Robin Hyde's work. It is possible that this production was not broadcast. While the BBC archives confirm that Pinter received a payment form and attended the production of this work, confirmed in a letter to Reggie Smith, the programme is not listed in the Radio Times for this date and a search of the BBC Genome project does not return an entry in the Radio Times archive. An email compilation of Pinter's BBC work gathered by Ned Chaillet's assistant Stephanie Beynon on request from Pinter’s PA, Angela Cheyne, and sent to Mark Taylor-Batty during the creation of Pinter's website supports this possibility. Pinter annotated a printout of the email by hand and crossed out several productions, including this one, though it is unclear what exactly he meant by this. One possibility is that Pinter was indicating that the broadcast did not take place. See also database entries for 'Focus on Libraries', 'One Man's City - Leeds', and 'Operation Leopard'. |
