Broadcast Notes

This six-part series was broadcast weekly from 24 November to 29 December. It was broadcast twice, first in the 'Children's Hour' slot at 17.00 and then again later in the evening on the same day. According to the Radio Times entry, the production included 'filmed sequences' produced by the BBC Television Unit. In Pinter's TV files at the BBC, there is a contract for Pinter in an unspecified role in the filmed section. Filming took place on the 1 November. He was contracted to 'to take part in filmings as requested by producer', for which he was paid £3. Since footage of the production is currently lost, it is not possible to determine what role(s) Pinter played or if his scene(s) appeared in the broadcast production.

Description The first of a play in six episodes from the novel by Alexandre Dumas. Translated by Lord Sudley. Adapted for television by Felix Felton and Susan Ashman.
