Actor. With one of the most productive careers of any 20th century actor, Michael Horden is perhaps best known for his work in Shakespeare in Stratford in the 1950s (and later with the Royal Shakespeare Company in the 1960s and 70s), Nottingham Playhouse (where he played Lear to great critical acclaim in 1969 and again for the BBC in 1982) and the National Theatre where he originated the role of George Moore in Tom Stoppard's 'Jumpers' in 1972.

In addition to his work on stage Horden worked prolifically in film appearing in nearly 100 feature films such as the iconic 1963 production of Cleopatra staring Elizabeth Taylor and Rex Harrison. He also appearing in multiple television and radio productions, lending his voice to the role of Jeeves in a BBC adaption of P.G. Wodehouse's 'Jeeves' stories in 1973 and the television series of 'Paddington' in 1975.
