Actor. On stage from age three, Doris Hare's career spanned over 80 years, primarily on stage (though she is perhaps best remembered for her role as Reg Varney's mum in the popular television series 'On the Buses' (1969-73) and the three spin-off films, On the Buses (1971), Mutiny on the Buses (1972) and Holiday on the Buses (1973)). In 1963 she joined the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and the National Theatre at the Old Vic in 1965.
