Born: 14 February 1952
Actor. Lesser joined the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) directly following his studies at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in 1977 where he was cast as Richard of Gloucester in all three part of Henry VI. As an Associate Artist with the RSC, Lesser has starred in many of Shakespeare's leading roles including Romeo (1980), Troilus (1985), Richard III (1988), Petruchio (1992) and Leontes (2006-7). For other companies, Lesser has starred as Hamlet (Warehouse, 1982), Feste (Riverside Studios, 1987), and Brutus (Barbican, 2005). Alongside his Shakespearean roles, Lesser has appeared in a range of contemporary and classical plays across the UK at the Royal Court, National Theatre, Donmar Warehouse and Hampstead Theatre. Between 2000-2013, Lesser focused on film and television roles including popular series such as Foyle's War and Game of Thrones.
