Director, writer, producer and consultant. Harmston began his career in 1993 at The Old Red Lion by directing the world premiere of Rod Dungate's critically-acclaimed play King James’ Ear. He has directed in the West End and produced Off-Broadway and has directed over 80 productions which have been seen across the UK as well as in Ireland, Greece, Austria, the USA and most recently Thailand. Harmston's directing for radio has been critic’s choice in both The Independent and Radio Times. He has worked as Artistic Director of Agatha Christie Theatre Company, as Associate Director for Chichester Festival Theatre and to Peter Hall and Trevor Nunn, as Artistic Director of Tour de Force Productions, and is a Creative Associate at The Belgrade in Coventry. He has focussed much on developing relationships with writers and nurturing first productions of new work and significant revivals. He collaborated with Harold Pinter for many years, directing the playwright as an actor twice in his own work (BBA Management website).
