Actor, director, producer and human rights activist. Her career in theatre began at the Space Theatre in Cape Town. She moved to London when she was twenty-one and worked with the Royal Court, the National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company and with Cheek By Jowl. In 1989 she began her production company, Assassin Films. Her productions include the films East is East (Damien O'Donnell, 1999). She was the subject of a BBC television film, Sitting Target (Jenny Wilkes, 1989) based on the real events of her struggle against a landlord. She is CEO and founder of Think Equal.
