Recognised for his performances as his role as DI Neil Manson between 1991 and 1993 in the police series The Bill (ITV, 1983-2010), he went on to portray a number of ‘bad guy’ characters in series including Bad Girls (ITV, 1999-2006), Queer as Folk (Channel 4, 1999-2000) and notably the villain Frank Foster between 2011 and 2012 in Coronation Street (ITV, 1960-).
