Theatre and film producer, author. After an apprenticeship with Arnold Wesker's Centre 42 and Roger Planchon's Théâtre de la Cité, Custom has been associate director of the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre, director of the Institute of Contemporary Arts and commissioning editor, Arts, for Channel 4 television. He has produced and directed more than 50 productions. He produced a television broadcast of Harold Pinter's Nobel Prize speech
