The Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh, was founded in 1963 by the publisher John Calder with John Malcolm, Jim Haynes and Richard Demarco. It has been at its current location, 10 Cambridge St, Edinburgh, since 1992. It was originally located at 15 James Court, Lawnmarket, Edinburgh, and moved first to an address in Edinburgh's Grassmarket in 1969.
