Actor, director, producer and activist. Stewart has worked extensively in theatre, film and television, and in voiceover. He was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company between 1966 and 1982. He had a parallel career in television, though his most significant and widley remembered role is that of Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation (CBS, 1987–1994) and four associated films. In film, he has had an equally successful run as Professor Charles Xavier in the seven films in the X-Men series between 2000 and 2017.
