Actor. Magee had toured Ireland with Harold Pinter as young actors in the early 1950s. A close friend of Samuel Beckett and Pinter, Magee appeared in iconic movies like 'A Clockwork Orange' (1971) and 'Chariots of Fire' (1981). Magee moved to London from Ireland in 1954 and became a pioneer in the interpretation of Beckett's radio work at the BBC, after which Beckett reported wrote 'Krapp's Last Tape' (1958) specifically for Magee. Known for his roles in challenging, avant-garde productions (including the Royal Shakespeare Company's 'Afore Night Come' (1964), 'Marat/Sade' (1965) and 'Endgame' (1964)) as well as his turbulent personal life off-stage.
