Michael Bakewell

Mr Michael Bakewell (Male)

Television producer, writer and director. Bakewell became Head of Plays at the BBC in 1963. He produced plays for BBC2's Theatre 625 anthology and worked in radio drama adapting scripts including The Lord of the Rings in 1981. He left the BBC later to become a freelance director of features and documentaries. He was also the dubbing director for English versions of various Japanese television series. He was married to Joan Bakewell between 1955 and 1972.
